We are excited to share that Compete Now has been named a Finalist in the October 2025 DesignRush Awards for our work with the Maine Medical Association.
This recognition highlights our team’s commitment to creating websites that not only look great but also deliver measurable results for clients in both health care web design and nonprofit web design.
What This Means
Advancing to finalist status means our project impressed both the public and the DesignRush jury. Final winners will be announced soon, and in the meantime our work is being featured prominently across the DesignRush platform during the jury review and voting phase.
About the Project
The recognized project was a complete redesign of the Maine Medical Association website. Our team:
- Migrated the site from Drupal to WordPress to simplify maintenance and scale operations
- Modernized the visual identity with a refreshed color palette
- Simplified navigation to highlight Membership, Advocacy, Education, Resources, and Public Health
- Incorporated imagery of Maine’s landscapes to reinforce local identity
- Prioritized accessibility, including strong contrast, clear typography, and ADA compliance
- Delivered a fully responsive experience across mobile, tablet, and desktop
DesignRush’s published review affirms many of these decisions, noting that the site “blends modern UX, scenic imagery, and accessibility to improve advocacy and member engagement.” (DesignRush) They also observed that the updated palette adds “energy without losing the professionalism expected from a medical association.”

Why It Matters
For us, this project represents more than just design. It demonstrates how effective health care web design can empower organizations to improve advocacy, engage members, and reach patients and professionals in meaningful ways. It also underscores the importance of nonprofit web design that balances organizational goals with user friendly experiences.
